Fajarasia.co – Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani who is also the Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP held a working visit on the island of Lombok, Saturday (27/8/2022). The first woman to lead the Indonesian House of Representatives started the visit by staying in touch with TGH Turmudzi Badarudin, a charismatic cleric from Nahdlatul Ulama.
Puan who was accompanied by Happy Hapsoro’s husband arrived at Zajnuddin Abdul Madjid Airport and was greeted by the Governor of NTB H Zulkieflimansyah along with the ranks of the NTB Provincial Leadership Communication Forum. Also welcoming was Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives H Rachmat Hidayat who is also the Chairman of the NTB PDI-P DPD along with other NTB PDIP functionaries.
After a short break in the airport VIP room, the group then headed straight to the residence of TGH Turmudzi which is located in the Qomarul Huda Islamic Boarding School complex in Bagu Village, Peringgarata District, Central Lombok. Welcoming the arrival of Puan at the door of the house, Mrs. Nyai Hj Halimah and Hj Baiq Hidayatul Aini.
Accompanied by chants of salawat from thousands of students, Puan then stepped into the inner room of the house where TGH Turmudzi was waiting. The highly respected senior NU kiai was in bed. Her trademark smile widened as soon as Puan Maharani approached and greeted her with reverence. Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Basarah, accompanied Puan.
The closed-door meeting then lasted for more than an hour. To Puan, TGH Turmudzi gave a red scarf. The shawl was immediately wrapped around the PBNU Rais Am to Puan.
After the meeting was over, Puan greeted the students who had been waiting in the front hall of the private residence. The Governor of NTB on the occasion delivered a welcome address to represent the host
“We are lucky that Mrs. Puan visited NTB. He is an extraordinary person. The people are kind,” said the Governor, starting his speech.
To the students, the Governor told that Puan was the grandson of the founder of Indonesia who was also the proclaimer of Indonesian independence as well as the first president of Indonesia, Soekarno. It was also stated that Puan was the daughter of the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Hj Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“Mbak Puan is now the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives. Previously served as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture who coordinated the ministers. Hopefully, God will give her health to continue to serve the nation and state,” said the Governor while affirming that Puan Maharani is the most ideal portrait for inspiration for female students.
Meanwhile, on this occasion, Puan emphasized that her visit to TGH Turmudzi was to continue the tradition of sewing the friendship that her grandfather Bung Karno had started with all NU scholars in Indonesia. The tradition was then continued by his late father Taufik Kiemas and his mother Hj Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“This is not the first meeting. God willing, there will be other meetings that will bring more efficient things,” said Puan.
He emphasized that building this great nation cannot be done alone. Collaboration is needed. So that his relationship with TGH Turmudzi who is also the PBNU Mustaysar Council, it is believed that there will be no more misunderstandings in building the nation and state.
Puan also encouraged thousands of students. They are reminded not to be influenced by hoax news. Puan said that 2024 is an election year. And some of the students will become novice voters in the event of the democratic party.
“Now the situation is preoccupied with the 2024 election. Do not let someone in the election even want to divide us,” said Puan.
Puan believes that all the students will one day choose a leader who loves Indonesia as a whole. To sahibulbait, Puan expressed her gratitude and gratitude for being accepted as a family.
“Making friends and staying in touch will never end. Friendship as a family must continue. I believe. One day, God willing, one of the female students will be able to take my place,” said Puan.
After the meeting with the students, Puan and her entourage then continued their working visit to Mataram by having a dialogue with the rectors of public and private universities. Then proceed to visit Kebon Roek Market, one of the main markets in Mataram.****
