Hendri explained, Puan is an example of the success of PDIP’s regeneration.
With her qualities and abilities, Puan has held a strategic position until now, becoming the first woman to lead the DPR RI institution.
“We have to be observant and clear about the figure of Puan Maharani. Now, Ms. Puan is a qualified figure in the PDIP, she came from the people and then became a member of the DPR, became the Chair of the DPR. Before becoming the Chair of the DPR, she was the Chair of the PDIP faction. the opposition position at that time, then became Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture and now the chairman of the DPR,” he said in a talk show on Apa Kabar Indonesia Malam, Thursday (14/7/2022).
Hendri also responded to the statement of Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia who suggested that Puan be paired with the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.
The duet of Puan and Anies is considered suitable because they both have quality.
He said that only the pair Prabowo Subianto and Airlangga Hartarto might be able to compete with the Puan Anies duo if the two pairs contested in the 2024 presidential election.
“The point is, in my opinion, these two people are two people who are equally qualified and have qualified qualities, and if they are combined, maybe only Prabowo Airlangga Hartarto can compete with this pair,” he said.
Furthermore, regarding the difference in mass base between Puan and Anies, Hendri assessed that it was not a difficult matter to put together.
This is because both of them have loyal mass bases, both towards Anies and Puan.
However, according to him, there is an important thing behind the proposed duet, which is to prevent and at the same time eliminate polarization in society.
