Fajarasia.co – The founder of the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) Crisis Center, Ken Setiawan revealed the flow of funds collected by Community Organizations (Ormas) NII. One of them, by robbing or taking other people’s goods.
This former member of the NII from 2000 to 2003 said that the method of looting from others is likened to Indonesia being in a state of war and not yet independent. So, it is allowed to take other people’s belongings who are not from the group.
“The NII group did raise funds. We used to use fai or take other people’s property. That is allowed. Because today is a state of war,” said Ken at a press conference at the Aryaduta Hotel, Central Jakarta, Monday (20/6/2022) .
In launching the action, said Ken, there were NII members who faked their identity cards (KTP) and diplomas. Then, his party distributes Household Assistants (ART) to elite places in Jakarta.
“One day when the employer leaves, the child goes to school, we come with the car and take the property. It can be taken,” he explained.
However, over time, this modus operandi often had problems with the police. Thus, NII is looking for other ways to raise funds, including establishing a foundation to opening donations to mosques and natural disasters.
“This method is considered risky, so they set up foundations for orphans, poor people, donations to the love of the mosque to donations in case of a disaster. They are very active in using social activities to raise funds,” he explained.
“This tarnishes the name of the original person seeking funds. This concept is also used by JI and spreads in places to eat to worship. This tarnishes the name of social funders,” he concluded.****
