Fajarasia.co – Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Gelora Party DPN, Fahri Hamzah, considers the New Indonesia Coalition (KIB), which was initiated by the Golkar Party, PAN and PPP to face the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres), does not have a clear political concept. Even Fahri quipped that the initiators of KIB were confused people who were gathering at the patrol post.
“People are confused because the concept of a coalition does not exist in the presidential system. I said that sometimes the elite gathers without using common sense, without using concepts, it’s just like people gathering at the patrol station, that’s not allowed, “said Fahri to media after being a resource person at the Legislation Forum at the Nusantara III Building Parliament Complex Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/6/2022).
The former deputy chairman of the DPR RI also explained that there is no term coalition in a country that adheres to a presidential system. Coalition, explained Fahri, only exists in countries that adhere to a parliamentary system.
“Try calling all the general chairmen of the KIB, I’ll tell you there’s no such thing as a coalition, you think it’s wrong, it’s wrong. Actually you shouldn’t have a coalition in the presidential system, because that means conspiracy,” he said again.
Fahri also criticized the current political party elites who do not understand the concept of a coalition. Likewise, if there is a political party that has determined its presidential candidate.
“So for example the KIB, the one who gets together can’t talk about people first, he says oh we’re not talking about people, we should talk about platforms but there are parties that have already determined candidates, oh according to our congress our general chairman should be president, It’s a mess,” he said.
Fahri assessed that the DPR is a representative of the people who serves as a supervisor and should be in opposition to the executive or government power.
“There is no coalition. Actually, there is no coalition in the presidential system, because that means conspiracy,” said the politician from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). *
