Fajarasia.co – President Joko Widodo, First Lady Iriana, and a limited entourage arrived in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, Wednesday (29/6/2022) at 08.50 local time. They arrived in Kyiv after traveling for approximately 11 hours by Extraordinary Train (KLB) from Poland.
After getting off the train car, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana were greeted by Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmytro Senik, Head of the Ukrainian-Indonesian Intergovernmental Relations Commission Taras Kachka, and officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv.
The President and Mrs. Iriana will be in Ukraine to carry out a number of activities. One of them is a peace mission, by meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the Maryinsky Palace, Wednesday afternoon local time.
Prior to meeting with President Zelenskyy, President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana are also scheduled to visit the Center for Endocrine Science and Surgery, Endocrine Organ and Tissue Transplantation in Kyiv City. In the afternoon, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana and their limited entourage will return to Kyiv Central Station and then head to Przemysl Station in Poland using KLB.
Previously, President Jokowi said the visit was to invite President Zelenskyy to open a space for dialogue in the context of peace with Russia.
“To build peace, because war must be stopped and those related to the food supply chain must be reactivated,” said the President in his statement at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, before taking off, Sunday (25/6/2022).
After the visit to Ukraine, President Jokowi will also head to Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin.
On that occasion, President Jokowi also carried the same thing. Namely inviting President Putin to open a space for dialogue and stop the war with Ukraine.
“Once again, with the same mission, I will invite President Putin to open a dialogue room and as soon as possible to carry out a ceasefire and stop the war,” he continued.****
