Fajarasia.co – The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, was appointed as one of the figures who presented the award to the winner of the Achmad Bakrie Award (PAB) XVIII 2022. Puan congratulated all the recipients of the PAB award.
“I congratulate the figures and institutions that won the 2022 Achmad Bakrie XVIII Award for their extraordinary and inspirational works and the benefits that were directly felt by the community,” said Puan at the XVIII/2022 PAB Awarding Night at the Djakarta Theatre, Jakarta, Sunday ( 14/6/2022).
The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives also appreciated the Achmad Bakrie Foundation in collaboration with the Freedom Institute and the Bakrie Business Group for organizing the PAB event. According to Puan, an award like this is very much needed in an effort to support Indonesia’s superior human resources (HR).
“Appreciation for his commitment to give awards to scientists, other figures, and institutions that dedicate their lives for the progress of the nation,” he said.
The Achmad Bakrie (PAB) Award was held again this year after being absent for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There were 5 award categories given at PAB XVIII 2022 which was also held at the same time to commemorate the 77th Indonesian Independence Day.
Meanwhile, Puan gave an award to the winner of PAB XVIII 2022 for the medical category, namely dr. Erlina Burhan and dr. Tonang Dwi Ardyanto. Both were awarded for making a synergistic contribution between the clinical-epidemological and pulmonological-public health fields that helped Indonesia face the global Covid-19 pandemic with results that received international praise.
“The dedication and application of the knowledge given by the doctors in dealing with Covid-19 has helped the community survive the pandemic storm,” said Puan.
“The contribution of doctors deserves to be appreciated, especially those who have a big impact like dr. Erlina and dr. Tonang,” added the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
In addition to medicine, there are 4 other categories given in PAB XVIII 2022. Awards were given to Nirwan Dewanto for the literary category, Mohtar Mas’oed for the social thought category, the Archaeological Research Team for Indonesian Ancient Cave Paintings for the science category, and R. William Liddle for a special award. as an international scientist who contributed to Indonesia.
“Thank you to all figures and institutions who have provided real and useful work for the people and nation of Indonesia,” said Puan.
Since it was first held in 2003 until the last event in 2019, PAB has given awards to 76 recipients. With this addition, this year, there have been a total of 81 recipients of the Achmad Bakrie Award.****
