52nd Haul Puan: Bung Karno is still alive and residing in the hearts of the Indonesian people

Fajarasia.co – The chairman of the DPR RI and the grandson of Proclaimer Bung Karno, Puan Maharani, recalled his grandfather who had left the Indonesian nation 52 years ago. Even though it has been more than half a century since he died, Bung Karno still lives and resides in the hearts of the Indonesian people.

“On June 21, 1970, or 52 years ago, Bung Karno left us all. But after more than half a century Bung Karno left us all, his name still smells good in the midst of his nation and also in the international world, even though in the era before this time, Bung Karno underwent a very structured and systematic process of de-carnoization,” said Puan.

This was conveyed by Puan during a joint prayer involving all religious elements and religious advisors at the At Taufiq Mosque Complex, PDI-P Party School, Jakarta, Monday (20/6/2022) night.

“For me, that is the hallmark of a true leader, even though he has died and his good name is trying to be destroyed and eliminated, Bung Karno is still alive and resides in the hearts of his people,” said Puan.

Puan said that Bung Karno’s name remained fragrant and resided in the hearts of his people because there were so many services and legacy of Big Brother for the Indonesian nation and for the world that cannot be forgotten.

Madam, at least I noted that there were six dimensions of Bung Karno. First, Bung Karno as thinkers and fighters who have been instrumental in fighting and seizing the independence of the Indonesian nation. Second, Bung Karno as a national ideologue who has explored and conceptualized Pancasila as the basis and ideology of an independent Indonesia. Third, Bung Karno as the Proclaimer of the Independence of the Indonesian Nation.

“Fourth, Bung Karno as the First President of the Republic of Indonesia. Fifth, Bung Karno as a world leader who was instrumental in providing inspiration for Asian-African nations to seize the independence of their own people through the 1955 Asian-African Conference in Bandung, and Sixth, Bung Karno as an Islamic thinker and fighter,” said Puan.

In his dimension as an Islamic thinker and fighter, said Puan, it can be seen from the traces and legacy he left behind, including as a cadre and Muhammadiyah leader at that time.

“Bung Karno has also received the title of Walliyul Amri Adharori Bi As Asyaukah from the 1954 Nahdlatul Ulama Congress in Surabaya. Bung Karno was also given the title as an ‘Islamic Warrior and Warrior’ by the Conference of Asian-African Countries in 1965,” said the first woman who served as Chair of the DPR.

In addition, said Puan, Bung Karno had also contributed to the discovery of the tomb of Imam Bukhari, a narrator of the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi Wassalam) in the city of Samarkhan Uzbekistan, which was still part of the Soviet Union.

“Bung Karno has also been instrumental in saving Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt from the plans of Egyptian President Gamal Abdul Nasser when at that time he intended to dissolve the oldest Islamic University in the world,” he said.

“It was Bung Karno who suggested that in Padang Arafah, where Muslims perform the pillars of Hajj in Saudi Arabia, shady trees should be planted. And there are many more services and legacy of Bung Karno to Islam and the Islamic world,” he explained.****
