Puan's Vision in the Speech of the Annual Session of the Proclaimers' Grandson's Ideological Responsibility

Fajarasia.co The speech of the Speaker of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, in the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, was praised today. The comprehensive speech that discussed all aspects of the life of the Indonesian nation at the age of 77 years of Independence was considered as Puan’s vision in building a better country.

“Regardless of whether you will participate in the 2024 presidential election contestation or not, Puan’s speech today is very interesting to note because it discusses many aspects of national and state life, which in my opinion is more like Puan’s vision to build Indonesia in the future,” said Political Communication Observer from the University of Indonesia. , Ari Junaedi, Tuesday (16/8/2022).

Ari assessed that Puan’s vision for Indonesia in the future really needs to be conveyed to the public because of her role as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives. In the Indonesian constitutional system, the role of the DPR as a legislative body is in line with the Government as the executor of development.

“Moreover, Puan is also the grandson of the proclaimer Bung Karno who is now a state official with a very crucial role. So, apart from her role as Chair of the DPR, Puan has a kind of ideological responsibility as the grandson of the proclaimer to guard the ideals of independence proclaimed by her grandfather 77 years ago,” said Ari.

The ideological responsibility, said Ari, can be seen from Puan’s narrative which continues to remind the values and identity of the Indonesian nation, which Bung Karno absorbed in sparking Pancasila. In her speech, Puan reminded that the Indonesian people should continue to make “Pancasila the guiding star for the direction of the nation’s journey” as stated by Bung Karno.

“In the midst of the influence of foreign cultures and increasingly strong radicalism, the narrative about Pancasila must continue to be echoed in the minds of the public,” said Ari.

Ari also highlighted Puan’s narrative about the nation’s young generation who will be an important part of Indonesia’s democratic party in the future. Puan’s attention to democratic values that need to be upheld, especially in every election, shows her commitment that maintaining the values of togetherness and mutual cooperation as a nation is more important than five-year political interests.

“Puan’s words so that all parties know ‘when to compete and when to compete’ is very soothing in the midst of increasingly heated political weather. This also shows Puan’s maturity as a politician who is widely expected to contest the 2024 presidential election,” said Ari.****
