Fajarasia.co – The chairman of the Indonesian Palm Oil Farmers Association (APKASINDO) Indragiri Hilir, Mulono Afriyanto, complained about the drop in the selling price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of palm oil in his area.

“The price is no longer falling but free fall. If it is likened from the 9th floor down to the 1st floor,” said Mulono, exemplifying the drop in palm oil prices in a discussion with Pro 3 RRI, Thursday (23/6/2022).

Currently, he said, the price of oil palm FFB at the farmer level is Rp. 500 from the previous Rp. 3,000.

“That was before the export ban. After the ban was lifted, the price is IDR 2,000, now it’s IDR 500,” he said.

According to him, the decline in the price of palm oil to Rp500 is something that is not natural. The reason is, to produce fresh fruit bunches (FFB) oil palm requires fertilizer.
