Muse-Ruili is the busiest border crossing between China and Southeast Asia

Fajarasia.id -Muse-Ruili immigration checkpoint is one of the busiest border crossings between China and the Southeast Asian region during the Lunar New Year holiday season.

Checkpoints in Myanmar’s Muse city and China’s Ruili city in Yunnan province officially reopened on Wednesday (25 January).

Muse-Ruili is an important cross-border trade route for Myanmar and China, Chinese media wrote on Monday (30 January 2023).

According to official statistics from the Chinese government, about 17 million people traveled through Ruili Post in 2019, with 17,458 tons of imported and exported goods.

In the year before the pandemic, the item brought about 100 billion yuan (around Rs 220.7 trillion) to Yunnan province. This corresponds to about 80% of the trade value between Southern China and Myanmar.

Chinese authorities have lifted quarantine requirements for international travelers, including those passing through the Muse-Ruili border crossing, from January 8, 2023. All you need to do is provide a negative PCR test result within the last 48 hours and a valid travel document.

The border crossing was closed in his March 2020 while China struggled to fight the pandemic.

Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Public Security processed her 2.45 million travel requests to and from mainland China during this year’s Lunar New Year homecoming season.

Of these, up to 112,000 cross-border commuters use their own vehicles.
