Fajarasia.co – With the enactment of Law (UU) Number 11 of 2020 concerning the Job Creation Act, it provides opportunities for Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to carry out forest management and utilization activities.
Usually, permits for Forest Concession Rights (HPH) or Industrial Plantation Forests (HTI) are only carried out by the private sector. Of course, the enactment of this law is a breath of fresh air for the Riau Provincial Government to increase the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
The Governor of Riau, Syamsuar, is trying to fight for the establishment of a regionally-owned enterprise (BUMD) engaged in the industrial forest plantation sector (HTI) by applying for a Multi-Business Forest Utilization Permit (PBPH).
If this is realized, said Syamsuar, Riau is the only province that has BUMD HTI.
“When will our BUMD have a business that is engaged in industrial plants. This of course needs the support of all elements of society. Hopefully this BUMD can be realized, because it is the first HTI BUMD in Indonesia,” said Syamsuar in Jakarta, through a release received, a Editor, Monday ( 20/6/2022).
Syamsuar admitted that the Covid-19 pandemic period was quite difficult. Riau has experienced a decline in income, so that new budgeting support is needed from various sources, including utilization in the forestry sector.
“So I really hope for support from the central government so that this becomes the new Regional Original Income (PAD) of Riau Province in the future,” he asked.
Furthermore, he said to improve the economy in Riau, he has increased investment services. One of them is the construction of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road.
In addition, he has also facilitated large companies in Riau and local communities to collaborate in partnership.
“As many as 219 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). So we continue to run how big companies in Riau in the future can play a role and partner with the community so as to create a harmonious relationship between the company and the local community,” he concluded. *****
