Fajarasia.id – An officer from the Land Affairs Unit (Harda) of the Metro Bekasi City Police, identified by the initials SR, has officially issued a clarification regarding reports of alleged inappropriate remarks during the handling of a land dispute case. The statement serves as SR’s right of reply to information previously circulated by Team 11 ABK & Partner’s.
In his explanation, SR stressed that he never intended to demean journalists or any other party. He attributed the controversy to miscommunication and misinterpretation.
“I respect my colleagues in the media. We consistently strive to maintain cooperation in every legal process. If misunderstandings arise, let us resolve them together,” SR said on Monday, November 17, 2025.
SR further highlighted the crucial role of the press in ensuring transparency in law enforcement. He expressed hope that coverage would continue to prioritize accuracy and balance to prevent misleading perceptions among the public.
“We have never underestimated the role of journalists. On the contrary, the media helps safeguard openness in public information,” he added.
Responding to witness claims that his remarks were disparaging, SR clarified that his words were spontaneous, made when witness Iwan expressed fatigue from repeatedly attending police examinations.
“My statement was not an official directive. If it caused misunderstanding, I am willing to meet Iwan directly to clear things up,” SR explained.
Previously, Team 11 ABK & Partner’s had received reports from a witness who considered the remarks inappropriate. However, SR and Iwan are known to have long-standing professional interactions, particularly in land-related cases.
This clarification was delivered as part of SR’s right of reply under Indonesia’s Press Law No. 40 of 1999, ensuring balanced reporting and preventing misinterpretation within society.***
