Fajarasia.co – The movement of PDI-P cadres to carry the chairman of the DPR RI Puan Maharani as a presidential candidate (candidate) continues to strengthen, said DPC chairman Bojonegoro Abidin Fikri in Jakarta, Saturday (28/5/2022).
“I regularly have direct discussions with cadres and administrators below. Their general encouragement is when we can officially campaign for Mbak Puan as a presidential candidate,” said Abidin Fikri in a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.
The dynamics that are developing, starting from sub-branch administrators, sub-branches to sub-branches administrators (PAC), currently feel that this discourse strengthens party solidity at lower levels and becomes a source of pride to be able to carry potential cadres.
According to him, the dynamics of Puan’s candidacy cannot be prevented. However, the authority to decide candidates is in the hands of General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, as well as the aspirations of the cadres below who seek to build solidity and the pride of the party remain in tune.
“The reason for the cadres who voiced Mbak Puan as the presidential candidate was also based on their awareness of how the party’s strategy is in the long term. They have an awareness of the importance of leadership being guided by the party’s ideology, so that they see Ms. Puan as the right person to carry,” explained the DPR member.
With the dynamics and strengthening of the movement, he added, it would be a positive thing because the cadres below have room to discuss about the capacity and track record of Puan Maharani’s performance.
“This is important so that knowledge in the community about Mbak Puan is wider because in terms of political work as well as work as a public official, Ms. Puan has actually made a lot of achievements. This is what PDI-P through its cadres can massively disseminate information about,” said PP Baitul Muslimin chairman. Indonesia (Bamusi).
Puan has a track record of performance and leadership that makes her eligible to run in the 2024 presidential election, both in a public position in the DPR since 2009 and in an executive position as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK).****
