Fajarasia.co — After previously showing support for Puan Maharani as president in East Java, North Sumatra, Banten, West Java, now it is back in North Sulawesi.
Volunteer communities who want Puan to continue Jokowi’s leadership were declared in Bolaang Mongondow Regency and Bolaang Mongondow Timur declared themselves as Puan Maharani’s Volunteer Fighters.
North Sulawesi Maharani Warrior Volunteer Coordinator Doddy Abdallah said the volunteers came from grassroots communities, they consisted of village leaders, community leaders, youth leaders, to former sangadi (village heads).
“The support for Mrs. Puan to become president has been extraordinary in North Sulawesi, until we declare ourselves to be part of the Volunteer Fighter Puan Maharani,” he said, Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
The declaration in the two cities, he said, was held on Sunday, August 1, 2022. The declaration is a form of community commitment that voluntarily dedicates themselves to fight together to support Puan Maharani as President of the Republic of Indonesia.
“We also did not expect that the support was so great, so we finally held a declaration,” he added.
Puan Maharani’s volunteer fighter was formed in North Sulawesi, he continued, also as a form of public recognition for the performance of the grandson of the first Indonesian President Soekarno. “The public knows Mrs. Puan’s work, since the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture has presented the Smart and Healthy Indonesia Card, then during the pandemic issued a law on the financial stability system, the law helps the community, so clearly she deserves our support,” he said.
Doddy emphasized that currently Indonesia needs a female leader who truly understands the roots of society’s problems at the grassroots. According to him, Puan Maharani is a very appropriate figure.
“It’s time for Indonesia to be led by women who are true in their work, not image, even Puan tends to hide her achievements in order to raise the reputation of the President, this good person deserves our support,” he said.
Responding to the phenomenon of the emergence of volunteers who support Puan Maharani, political observer Catur Nugroho said, the massive support for Puan, even not only in Java, is a strong sign that more and more people are starting to know about the leadership role of the Chairman of the DPR RI. “This support is important so that characters who only rely on image do not get a place on the ballot paper,” he said.
Catur said that the successor to Megawati Soekarno Putri’s leadership in PDIP was indeed worthy of being promoted because of the unifying figure within the party, and the figure desired by the people at the grassroots.
“PDIP must be rational, carrying Puan now has many reasons, of course apart from her capacity as a leader, Puan has also begun to prove that public support for her is quite strong, tends to be evenly distributed in almost all provinces,” he concluded.****
