Review Catering Kitchens for Hajj Pilgrims, Minister of Religion: Indonesian Cooks and Raw Materials

Fajarasia.co – In order to provide the best service for Indonesian pilgrims, Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas reviewed the readiness of catering services for pilgrims in Medina. Minister of Religion Yaqut visited one of the catering providers that will serve congregational consumption, namely Nooha Catering Service.

“I make sure every catering kitchen has a cook from Indonesia. There are also raw materials that are imported directly from Indonesia,” said the Minister of Religion in a release received by the Editors, Tuesday (24/5/2022).

In addition to the cook, the Minister of Religion also ensures that the kitchen sanitation is clean. So that the cooking process uses equipment that is in accordance with health standards, including clean storage rooms and the best ingredients used.

“I also ensured the kitchen’s ability to prepare as much food as the package in the contract. And ensure the distribution scheme and means of transportation to be used,” he said.

The Minister of Religion added that there were 13 companies in Medina that were contracted to provide catering services to Indonesian pilgrims. Meanwhile, Indonesian pilgrims will receive consumption services at most 27 times in a span of nine days.

Ensure Health Service

In addition to consumption, the Minister of Religion also reviewed the readiness of the Madinah Indonesian Hajj Health Office (KKHI) service. KKHI itself was last used during the 2019 Hajj season and has now been reactivated with several facility improvements.

“Alhamdulillah, health services at KKHI are also ready, both in terms of medical personnel and other health workers, as well as health service facilities, equipment, and medicines,” said the Minister of Religion.

The KKHI in Madinah is equipped with an Emergency Unit (ER), High Care Unit (HCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), inpatient care, and other supporting facilities, such as laboratories, radioactivity, and ultrasound. Meanwhile, the medical personnel who will serve the congregation include general practitioners, dentists, internal medicine specialists, lung specialists, heart specialists, neurologists, anesthesiologists, ENT specialists, mental health specialists.

In addition, KKHI is also supported by other health workers such as nutritionists, health analysts, medical records, radiology, surveillance, sanitarian, electromedical, pharmacists, pharmacy staff, and administrative staff. In order to support the speed of service, this year KKHI has also prepared 6 ambulances. ***
