Fajarasia.co – The Indonesian House of Representatives approved Ahmadi Noor Supit as a member of the Indonesian Financial Audit Board (BPK) for the 2022-2027 period as a replacement for Harry Azhar who died. The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, hopes that Ahmadi Noor Supit can help improve BPK’s performance.
“Congratulations on the election of Mr. Ahmadi Noor Supit as a member of the BPK RI for the period 2022-2027. Hopefully we can carry out the mandate as well as possible,” said Puan, Tuesday (27/9/2022).
The ratification of Ahmadi Noor Supit as an elected BPK member was carried out at the 6th Plenary Meeting of the DPR during the first session of 2022-2023, today. Of the 8 candidates, Ahmadi Noor Supit was elected after undergoing a fit and proper test at Commission XI of the DPR RI last week.
The results of the ratification of BPK members in the Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI today will be sent to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. Puan also emphasized that the elected BPK members are figures who are expected to make improvements and improve BPK’s performance in the future.
“Efforts to prevent state losses are very difficult because bureaucratic reform, especially in budget management, is still very weak, both at the central and regional government levels,” said the first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
“Therefore, elected BPK members must be able to make breakthroughs in efforts to improve and improve performance,” continued Puan.
The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also reminded that elected BPK members are able to carry out optimal supervision of the management of state finances by all state institutions. As a free and independent institution, said Puan, BPK must work independently and professionally.
“With optimal supervision from the BPK, it is hoped that the APBN and APBD can be used effectively and have a direct impact on the welfare of the people in the midst of the threat of a global crisis,” said the grandson of the Indonesian Proclaimer Bung Karno.
Furthermore, Puan hopes that BPK members can help prevent misuse of state budget allocations through their powers and responsibilities. This is because good supervision of state financial management is considered to reduce the occurrence of corrupt practices.
“Officials and employees in state institutions can no longer enjoy the budget that should be distributed directly to the people,” concluded Puan.****
