Fajarasia.co – President Joko Widodo is scheduled to witness firsthand the Formula E electric car race which will be held at the Ancol Formula E Circuit, Jakarta, Saturday (4/6/2022).
“God willing, tomorrow, Mr. President is scheduled to watch Formula E live,” said Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) Heru Budi Hartono in Jakarta, in a press statement received by the Editors, Friday (3/6/2022).
Before watching the race, President Jokowi is planning to do a grid walk together with the Chairman of the MPR RI as well as Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, Chief Executive of Formula E Jakarta Ahmad Sahroni, Chief Championship Officer & Co-Founder Alberto Longo, and five drivers.
“The president will also greet and take pictures with the racers,” added Kasetpres.
Previously, on Monday, April 25, 2022, President Jokowi directly reviewed the development of the Jakarta Formula E Circuit construction project.
“We hope that in early June we will be able to see the race,” said the President at the time.
The electric car racing world championship is being held for the first time in Indonesia and is the ninth race series in the 2022 competition.
The event, titled 2022 Jakarta E-Prix, will be attended by 22 racers who are members of 11 teams.****
