Fajarasia.co – Chairperson of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, visited the Mahasina Darul Qur’an wal Hadith Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Bekasi City, West Java. The leader of the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School, Drs KH Abu Bakar Rahziz, prayed for Puan to become president.
“Alhamdulillah, today we have Mbak Puan. He is a family of Indonesian history makers. His grandfather was the first proclaimer and president,” said KH Abu Bakar Rahziz when Puan was present at the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School, Pondok Gede, Bekasi City, Wednesday (21/9/2022).
KH Abu Bakar Rahziz also admitted that he was happy that Puan was willing to visit Mahasina Islamic Boarding School. He hopes that Puan’s presence can be an inspiration to the students of the Islamic boarding school.
“Her mother was the first female president and vice president. His grandfather is the president, his mother is the president, his son is a presidential candidate,” he said.
“Hopefully Ms. Puan will live a long life and always spread the benefits for the nation. Hopefully, Mrs. Puan’s journey will be a blessing and an inspiration,” continued KH Abu Bakar Rahziz.
On that occasion, KH Abu Bakar Rahziz revealed that one of the programs at Ponpes Mahasina is leadership and character. He also said, Ponpes Mahasina provides education without discrimination so that the students who study at the pesantren come from various backgrounds.
“One of Mahasina’s programs is leadership, education without discrimination, that’s why the minister’s son to the washerwoman are here. We also implement child-friendly education,” he explained.
KH Abu Bakar Rahziz said that all students of Ponpes Mahasina graduated from formal education at the level of Tsnawiyah and Aliyah (SMP/SMA). Last year, according to him, 100 percent of Aliyah Ponpes Mahasina graduates passed state universities (PTN).
The students of Ponpes Mahasina are also Tahfidz and Tahfidz of the Quran. They memorized the yellow book and mastered English and Arabic.
“Every year the number of students studying at Ponpes Mahasina increases, from only 17 students in 2016, now there are more than 1,000,” said KH Abu Bakar Rahziz.
Meanwhile, Puan gave her appreciation for the education pattern applied at the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School. To note, Ponpes Mahasina Darul Qur’an wal Hadith carries the concept of ‘Integrated Education for Ulama Cadres, Leaders with Qur’anic Morals and National Insight’.
“I am happy that there is character and national education at the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School. There is no discrimination too I am very happy. We will help to make this pesantren more developed,” said Puan.
Puan’s presence was warmly welcomed by the students. They sang salawat Yaa Lal Wathan when Puan arrived at the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School complex.
The first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives also had a dialogue with the students. Puan also asked the students to study hard and continue to be enthusiastic so that their dreams can be achieved, including to get scholarships for higher education in Egypt.
“Santri can also show their love for Indonesia by becoming the nation’s best sons and daughters, diligently studying and always being the best in various fields to develop Indonesia,” added the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
Especially for the female students of Ponpes Mahasina, Puan advised to always be confident in their abilities. He alluded to how Indonesia has many great women, and even has a female President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“So the girl can. The woman should not be insecure. You have to fight for your own destiny. Must have the determination that we can. Who knows, you will replace yourself as the chairman of the DPR like me,” said Puan.
Puan was present to visit Ponpes Mahasina along with a number of members of the DPR RI, namely the Chair of Commission IV DPR Sub-Department, Chair of Commission V DPR Lasarus, Deputy Chairperson of Commission VIII DPR Diah Pitaloka, Member of DPR Commission IV Riezky Aprilia, and Member of DPR Commission VI dr. H. Mufti Aimah Nurul Anam. The acting Mayor of Bekasi Tri Adhianto also accompanied.
