Fajarasia.id – The Secretariat of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Padang Lawas Utara (Paluta) has received six trash bins donated by palm oil company PT Paluta Inti Sawit (PIS). The program was initiated by DPRD Paluta Deputy Speaker Jonner Partaonan Harahap as part of efforts to promote environmental cleanliness.
Jonner expressed appreciation to PT PIS management for supporting the initiative. He emphasized that environmental care should be a shared responsibility, including among local businesses. “I coordinated with PT PIS, which has long been known for its concern for the environment, and they welcomed our request,” Jonner said while receiving the donation alongside DPRD Secretary AR Marjoni.
The PDI-P legislator hopes the program will inspire other companies to contribute to maintaining cleanliness and creating healthier surroundings. He stressed that both social and environmental awareness must continue to grow to improve the welfare of Paluta residents.
“Hopefully, companies will expand their social responsibility programs to help advance the region and improve community welfare,” he added.
Known for his commitment to social issues, Jonner described PT PIS’s contribution as a concrete example of collaboration between the private sector and legislative institutions in supporting regional development. The donation is expected to serve as the starting point for broader, sustainable initiatives in both environmental and social fields.****
