Fajarasia.id – Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto personally inspected a night parachute exercise conducted by the Airborne Forward Operations Group (KDOL) from Denmatra 1 and Para Raider Brigade 18 at Depati Amir Airport, Bangka, on Tuesday (Nov 18, 2025). The drill was part of the Joint Command Exercise (Kogab TNI), designed to sharpen troop readiness against potential threats and strengthen security in strategic areas.
Night operations demand high precision, which is why only selected personnel were deployed. KDOL units played a crucial role in securing the drop zone, clearing the area, monitoring terrain and weather conditions, and guiding paratroopers with visual signals.
According to the TNI Information Center, all 23 paratroopers landed safely as planned. “Tonight’s KDOL exercise went smoothly. We deployed 13 personnel from Denmatra 1 and 10 from Brigade 18,” the spokesperson confirmed.
The training also aligns with directives from President Prabowo Subiyanto to tighten security in Bangka Belitung, a region currently under scrutiny due to widespread illegal tin mining. Reports indicate nearly 1,000 illicit mining sites are operating, causing losses of up to 80 percent of national production potential.
By mobilizing land, sea, and air elements, the TNI reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding sovereignty and curbing illegal activities. The KDOL drill, integrated with cross-branch operations, underscores the military’s role in both conventional warfare (OMP) and non-war operations (OMSP).
This initiative highlights Indonesia’s determination to protect vital national resources while ensuring stability and security across the Bangka Belitung region.*****
