Hasto: PDIP Coffee Festival will break MURI's record

Fajarasia.co – The Homeland Coffee Festival held by the PDI Perjuangan DPP at the South East Parking of Senayan, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Central Jakarta, Friday (27/5), will break the record of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) because it is attended by thousands of participants.

“We hope that this festival will raise coffee in the country, awaken Indonesian farmers, and lift the spirit of the Indonesian people so that finally Homeland Coffee is Indonesia’s national awakening,” said Secretary General of the DPP PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto in a written statement, in Jakarta, which was received by the Editor on Friday ( 27/5/2022).

The Coffee Festival is proof that PDIP, as stated by the General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, is not only talking about power.

Megawati always gave directions so that PDI-P cadres must continue to carry out the work of popular politics and help the people.

“The plan is that the General Chairperson of the PDIP DPP will give a speech to open the Indonesian Coffee Festival,” said Hasto.

Regarding coffee, this man from Yogyakarta quoted a story told by Bung Karno’s former personal bodyguard, Mangil Wartowidjojo who wrote a book entitled “Testimony of Bung Karno 1945-1967”.

When breakfast, Bung Karno did not forget to drink coffee. “Mr. Mangil explained that Bung Karno’s coffee must be in the desired dosage, namely one spoon of coffee and one and a half spoons of sugar,” said Hasto.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Committee for the Indonesian Coffee Festival, Ono Surono, added that the event was a closing series of the 49th Anniversary of PDIP.

In the event titled the Coffee Festival for the Awakening of Indonesian Nationalism, there were several series of activities, including exhibitions, exhibitions, taste tests, and hybrid coffee toasts.

“Where the coffee taste test was prepared by the committee ‘on the spot’ and in a hybrid manner with a minimum target of 2,500 people. Hopefully, we will get an award from the MURI record,” said Ono.

The coffee exhibition will present coffee activists from Aceh to Papua. Five ministries will be involved, namely the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and Technology. Not only that, the community and coffee producers were also present.

In addition, PDIP will hold a barista competition with three categories, namely “latte art”, “manual brew”, and “aeropress”.

“Until now the number of contestants has reached 535 people from Aceh to Papua,” said Ono.

The festival, which lasts for three days, will feature cultural arts performances and performances by Indonesian artists such as Krisdayanti, Marcell Siahaan, Rizky Febian, Peewee Gaskins, Hivi, and others.*****
