Fajarasia.id – The Bekasi Regency Government has officially launched a new initiative to tackle stunting through a pentahelix collaboration model. The program, known as KAPAK BEKASI (Kolaborasi Aksi Pentahelix Kabupaten Bekasi), was introduced during a kick-off event at Aula KH Noer Ali, Bekasi Regent’s Office, on Friday (Nov 14, 2025).
Shared Responsibility
Deputy Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, emphasized that stunting prevention cannot be handled by the local government alone. Instead, it requires joint efforts involving businesses, universities, media, and the wider community.
“Collaboration between government, entrepreneurs, academics, and media must move together. The decline in stunting cases in Bekasi is the result of collective action,” Asep said on Saturday (Nov 15, 2025).
Asep explained that stunting is a growth failure influenced by multiple factors, making holistic intervention essential. Efforts include exclusive breastfeeding, adequate nutrition and vitamins, parental education, and active involvement of stakeholders.
He also highlighted the role of the private sector, noting that contributions need not always be financial. “Support can come in the form of providing milk, vitamins, or other tangible assistance,” he added.
“We are optimistic that with this collaborative approach, Bekasi Regency will continue to reduce stunting rates,” Asep stated.
Head of the Regional Planning Agency, Dwy Sigit Andrian, praised the launch of KAPAK BEKASI, calling it an innovation that strengthens cross-sector integration. “This initiative is not just a training project but a real innovation needed to accelerate stunting reduction,” he said.
KAPAK BEKASI places collaboration at the heart of its strategy, ensuring that all stakeholders—from government to civil society—work hand in hand to address stunting. The program reflects Bekasi’s commitment to building a healthier future for its children.
With the launch of KAPAK BEKASI, Bekasi Regency sets a strong example of how multi-sector collaboration can drive meaningful progress in reducing stunting and improving public health.****
