Fajarasia.co – Chairperson of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, visited the Mahasina Darul Qur’an wal Hadith Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Bekasi City, West Java. He also reminded the students to study well in order to give their best service to the nation and state.
Puan arrived at the Mahasina Darul Qur’an wal Hadith Islamic Boarding School, Pondok Gede, Bekasi, Wednesday (21/8/2022), and was greeted by thousands of female students singing salawat Yaa Lal Wathan. Accompanied by the caregivers of Ponpes Mahasina, Drs KH Abu Bakar Rahziz and Nyai Badriyah Fayumi, Puan greeted the students.
“The students are future leaders of Indonesia,” said Puan.
To note, Ponpes Mahasina Darul Qur’an wal Hadith carries the concept of ‘Integrated Education for Ulama Cadres, Leaders with Qur’anic Morals and National Insight’. The purpose of integrated education is education that is integrated, connected, related and cannot be separated from one another, namely Islamic Boarding School, MTs, and MA education.
According to Ponpes caregivers, one of the programs at this Islamic Boarding School is leadership and character. Ponpes Mahasina also provides education without discrimination so that the students who study at the pesantren come from various backgrounds.
“I am happy that there is character and national education at the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School. There is no discrimination too I am very happy. We will help to make this pesantren more developed,” said Puan.
All students of Ponpes Mahasina graduated from formal education at the level of Tsnawiyah and Aliyah (SMP/SMA). Last year, 100 percent of Aliyah Ponpes Mahasina graduates passed state universities (PTN).
Puan also praised the students of Ponpes Mahasina who were Tahfidz and Tahfidzul Quran. They also memorize the yellow book and master English and Arabic. Every year the number of students studying at Ponpes Mahasina increases, from only 17 students in 2016, now there are more than 1,000 people.
On that occasion, a female student named Halimatul Syadiah stated that she wanted to be like Puan. He then asked how the recipe to be a successful woman.
“Because there are those who think that women are below men, they are not confident to show their abilities,” said Halimatul who asked Puan for the Book of Dalilil Falihin (the essence of the Book of Riyadus Salihin).
Puan then asked all students of Ponpes Mahasina, especially women, to always be confident. He alluded to how Indonesia has many great women, and even has a female President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“So the girl can. The woman should not be insecure. You have to fight for your own destiny. Must have the determination that we can. Who knows, you will replace yourself as the chairman of the DPR like me,” said Puan.
Then, a student named Khoirul Ihsan said he was happy for Puan’s arrival to Ponpes Mahasina.
“Because Mrs. Puan is the most important character. The chairman of the DPR who is also the son of Mrs. Megawati and the grandson of Bung Karno,” said Ihsan, who aspires to study in Cairo.
The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives then said that the state had given recognition to the role of santri in seizing and defending the independence of the Indonesian nation. One of them, said Puan, is through Presidential Decree No. 22 of 2015 issued by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the establishment of National Santri Day every October 22.
“The state’s recognition of the role of santri must be proven by the real work of the santri, especially in protecting the Pancasila State from various undermining who want to replace Pancasila with other ideologies,” he explained.
“Santri can also show their love for Indonesia by becoming the nation’s best sons and daughters, diligently studying and always being the best in various fields to develop Indonesia,” added Puan.
He added that Islamic boarding schools were one of the main places where nationalism was born since the pre-independence period. Puan then mentioned the role of Islamic Boarding School figures who helped build Indonesia together with the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno.
“There is a tradition of fighting together between Bung Karno and the Kyai in the past in order to seize and defend Indonesia’s independence,” said Bung Karno’s grandson.
According to Puan, it is this struggle that needs to be continued in the present.
“In order to maintain and guard the Pancasila State and fill the nature of the development of the Indonesian nation,” said Puan.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Mahasina Islamic Boarding School, KH Abu Bakar Rahziz, thanked Puan for her presence. Moreover, Puan is a family of Bung Karno who had close relations with Islamic boarding schools during his lifetime.
“Alhamdulillah, today we have Mbak Puan. He is a family of Indonesian history makers. His grandfather was the first proclaimer and president,” said KH Abu Bakar Rahziz.
“Her mother is the president and the first female deputy. His grandfather is president, his mother is president, his son is a presidential candidate. I hope Ms. Puan has a long life and always brings benefits to the nation. Hopefully, Mrs. Puan’s journey will be a blessing and an inspiration,” he added.****
