Fajarasia.id – Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, extended her congratulations to Muhammadiyah as the Islamic organization marks its 113th anniversary. She praised Muhammadiyah’s enduring role in nation-building and its consistent service to society.
In her written statement, Puan reflected on Muhammadiyah’s historical journey since its founding by KH Ahmad Dahlan in Yogyakarta on November 18, 1912. “Muhammadiyah has shaped the nation’s history through its contributions in education, healthcare, and social services,” she said.
Puan expressed gratitude for Muhammadiyah’s continued presence and dedication to Indonesia’s progress, noting its significant impact on advancing knowledge and improving welfare. “The Indonesian people are grateful to have Muhammadiyah, which tirelessly works for the nation’s development and prosperity,” she added.
As the first woman to serve as Speaker of the DPR RI, Puan encouraged Muhammadiyah to maintain its spirit and consistency in serving the people. “Continue to dedicate yourselves to advancing the nation and serving communities across Indonesia,” she urged.
The peak celebration of Muhammadiyah’s 113th anniversary was held at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung, with this year’s theme “Advancing the Nation’s Welfare.”.***
