Fajarasia.co – DPR Speaker Puan Maharani is believed to be Megawati Soekarnoputri’s choice if President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) supports Ganjar Pranowo to run for the 2024 presidential election.
It is known that many interpreted President Jokowi’s statement at the V Pro Jokowi (Projo) National Working Meeting in Magelang, Central Java on Saturday, May 21, 2022 as a code of support for Ganjar Pranowo.
“I think there will be dualism (if Jokowi supports Ganjar, ed) and Puan will still be Megawati’s choice,” said Political Observer and Executive Director of Political and Public Policy Studies (P3S) Jerry Massie, Sunday (29/5/2022).
He admitted that the signal of President Jokowi’s support for Ganjar Pranowo had been read in verbal and nonverbal language.
“Inviting the PDIP meeting, Ganjar did not attend and instead chose to go to Makassar,” he said.
Thus, he believes the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) will not carry Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election if the scenario for the Prabowo Subianto – Puan Maharani duet is achieved later.
He believes that Ganjar Pranowo will be promoted by the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) if PDIP chooses the Prabowo-Puan duo.
The KIB so far consists of the Golkar Party, the United Development Party (PPP), and the National Mandate Party (PAN).
The three political parties (political parties) are part of the supporters of the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin government.
“I think PDIP will find it difficult to support Ganjar, this can be seen from a number of Megawati’s statements and there is tension between Puan and Ganjar,” he added.
However, according to him, the Ganjar-Puan duet scenario could be an alternative for PDIP.
“If the Jokowi-Mega relationship persists, then there is a chance that Ganjar-Puan will be carried by the white muzzle party. All that’s left is lobbying and strong persuasive politics and convincing Megawati to be accommodated by PDIP,” he concluded.
Just to note, Jokowi at the V Projo National Working Meeting did not come alone. He was accompanied by First Lady Iriana Jokowi.
He was also accompanied by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo with his wife, Siti Atikoh.
In his speech, Jokowi alluded to various national issues. There are issues of energy, food and the world’s geopolitical situation. For that, he asked all parties to work hard to solve the problem.
“That’s why, for political matters, ojo suckles. Don’t be in a hurry. Even though maybe the one we support is here,” said Jokowi, greeted by Projo’s shouts.
“Long live Pak Ganjar,” they shouted in unison.
