Fajarasia.co – Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, opened the People’s Health Service Innovation Festival organized by the PDI-P (PDIP). In addition to participating in providing socialization, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP also interacted with children who were brought by their parents to attend counseling.
The People’s Health Service Innovation Festival, which is still in the series of Bung Karno’s commemorations, was held at the PDIP Party School, Jl Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Saturday (18/6/2022). PDIP held this event because it realized the importance of preventing chronic nutritional problems or stunting in children, which is still a scourge in Indonesia.
The PDIP People’s Health Service Innovation Festival is not only open to cadres. The public, especially mothers, are invited to attend this event.
There are at least 500 pregnant women who follow the counseling. In addition, there are also briefings and early education for young couples or prospective brides regarding the importance of taking preventive measures to prevent stunting in children.
The Health Service Innovation Festival also provides counseling for parents of children under 2 years of age. Puan also seemed to be playing with the children her parents brought before the counseling started.
While greeting the mothers, Puan invited the children under the age of 2 to sing while clapping their hands.
“If you like to clap your hands, if you like to step on the earth, if you like your heart shout hurray,” Puan hums cheerfully with the children in the PDIP Party School hall which has been transformed into a playground area.
The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also sat in contemplation with mothers to talk about the growth of their children. Puan occasionally seemed to take pictures with the mothers present and their children.
“Thank you, mother, for coming all the way here to participate in the counseling made by PDIP,” he said.
After providing socialization for parents of children under 2 years old, Puan then provided counseling for pregnant women and prospective brides. He also interacted with a pregnant woman named Puji Rahayu and asked her to come on stage.
Puan asked the reason for Puji’s willingness to participate in PDIP counseling. The woman from East Jakarta came with her two small children, who were already heavily pregnant.
“I want to get knowledge, because I am pregnant there is blood clotting. I want to know whether I can give birth normally or not,” said Puji answering Puan’s question.
To Puan, Puji revealed that the pregnancy of her third child was unplanned because she did not participate in family planning after breast tumor surgery.
“They said that after the operation, they couldn’t use family planning first, but they conceded a goal,” said Puji greeted with laughter from Puan and the other counseling participants.
“Alhamdulillah, yes, even given the sustenance of children,” said Puan.
Puan then reminded Puji and other pregnant women to consume nutritious food so that the child they were carrying developed well. He also advised that breast milk be given until the child is 24 years old.
The grandson of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia, Bung Karno, also asked what Puji’s hopes were from this pregnancy. Puji then admitted that she had concerns that she would not be able to give birth normally because of her blood clotting disease.
“I want a normal delivery but the referral hospital has not received me because of blood clotting. Previously, my two children were born in midwives,” said the veiled mother.
“Yes, I have paid for the birth, yes,” answered Puan.
Puji also felt happy for the help of Mrs. Many times he thanked and thanked Mrs.
“Thank God ma’am. Can you get a present at the same time, ma’am?” said Puji was greeted by laughter from the lady.
Puan then teases Puji. Because Puji looked nervous when talking to Puan on stage.
“Gemeter ma’am, Mrs. Puan is next door,” said Puji, who then received a cash prize from Puan as a gift for her son.
During the counseling, Puan said the problem of stunting in Indonesia must receive serious attention. Therefore, PDIP often conducts health socialization for pregnant women and children at an early age.
“This is one of the mutual cooperation from PDIP together with the Government to overcome stunting. Stunting must be tackled early on because it concerns the future of the nation,” explained Puan.
“How can our children, our babies, later become the golden generation, namely a generation that is physically and mentally healthy and can benefit the community,” added the first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
Puan said PDIP wanted to participate in overcoming the stunting problem in Indonesia. The hope is that the stunting reduction target in 2024 can be realized.
“We make counseling so that mothers can keep their children healthy because this is related to child development,” concluded Puan.****
