Fajarasia.co – DPR chairman Puan Maharani invited PDI-P cadres throughout Indonesia to work hand in hand to make Indonesia a world coffee champion.

This was conveyed by Puan when she was present at the opening of the 2022 Indonesian Coffee Festival which was held at the East Parking of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (27/5/2022). The event was the idea of ​​PDIP as a series of activities to commemorate the 49th PDIP Anniversary.

At the event, the PDIP DPP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto along with other PDIP DPP ranks such as Sukur Nababan, Mindo Sianipar, Ribka Tjiptaning, Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Wiryanti Sukamdani. Also seen were the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Harvico Hasnul Qolbi.

Also present were members of the PDIP faction such as Charles Honoris, Dolfie OVP, Sub-Department, Gus Nabil Haroen, Vita Ervina, Masinton Pasaribu, Trimedya Panjaitan, Krisdayanti, Adian Napitupulu and Aria Bima.

Puan, who is also the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP, said that traveling around Indonesia, she saw that in almost every city there must be many coffee shops. In Jakarta alone, maybe every few hundred meters, a new coffee place pops up.

Coffee beans from various regions in Indonesia are sold everywhere, and the quality is so good that they are sought after in foreign countries.

“So it is only natural for us as PDI-P cadres to bring Indonesia to become the coffee world champion,” said Puan Maharani.

“I hope we can give souvenirs in the form of coffee for the guests who come. Let’s support Indonesian farmers.”

According to Puan, this event is a form of support for the advancement of Indonesian farmers.

“We build this nation together,” he added.

According to him, coffee can unite us when we hang out and discuss. Not just a small discussion, but to a discussion about the nation and state.

“By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially open the Indonesian coffee festival,” said Puan.

As a form of opening the event, Puan Maharani cut the cone.

The head of the Festival Committee, Ono Surono, explained that Indonesia has long been known to have great potential for coffee. Currently, the world’s coffee demand is 8.2 million tons per year, while Indonesia’s coffee production is around 750 thousand tons per year.

With changes in consumption and culture, coffee is very popular with young people. Characterized by the number of coffee shops that appear in various areas. The circulation of the money reaches Rp. 4.8 trillion per year.

“For young people, hanging out at a kooi shop is a modern thing. So, as instructed by the Chairperson, Mrs. Megawati, this festival is carried out with the theme of the revival of Indonesian nationalism,” said Ono.

The festival activities began with a dialogue about Indonesian coffee which was held a few months ago. At that time, it involved a number of government officials and local coffee entrepreneurs. It discussed the topic of coffee from upstream to downstream. “It is very contextual because it is in line with post-pandemic economic recovery efforts,” said Ono, who is also the chairman of the West Java PDIP DPD.

In accordance with the instructions of the PDIP DPP, this festival is carried out with various activities. Including the title for the most coffee toast which will become a MURI record. There are also exhibition activities by a number of baristas, workshops, coffee bean auction market, mini coffee museum, and cultural arts performances and performances by Indonesian artists.

“This event involves 5 ministries, 29 DPD PDI Perjuangan from all over Indonesia, 4 coffee producing communities, dozens of local coffee brands. There are 535 barista training participants. There is also a photo competition where the winners are announced every day,” said Ono.******
