Fajarasia.id– Heavy rain poured across several areas of Jakarta this afternoon, causing waterlogging on key roads near the DPR building and Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium. One of the affected spots was Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, Senayan, where floodwaters reached approximately 20 centimeters.
The information was shared by the official account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya. “There is waterlogging of about 20 cm on Jalan Gerbang Pemuda Senayan, Central Jakarta (landmark: Senayan Park/SPARK),” the post read.
Despite the flooding, vehicles were still able to pass through, with traffic toward Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Slipi reported as smooth. Authorities, however, advised motorists to exercise caution and reduce speed when driving through inundated areas.
The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) warned that rain is expected to continue throughout the day, accompanied by strong winds and lightning. Similar weather conditions are also forecasted in Bogor, Tangerang, Depok, and Bekasi.
BPBD listed several districts across Jakarta that may experience waterlogging:
- Central Jakarta: Gambir, Sawah Besar, Kemayoran, Senen, Cempaka Putih, Menteng, Tanah Abang, Johar Baru.
- North Jakarta: Penjaringan, Tanjung Priok, Koja, Cilincing, Pademangan, Kelapa Gading.
- West Jakarta: Cengkareng, Grogol Petamburan, Taman Sari, Tambora, Kebon Jeruk, Kalideres, Palmerah, Kembangan.
- South Jakarta: Tebet, Setiabudi, Mampang Prapatan, Pasar Minggu, Kebayoran Lama, Cilandak, Kebayoran Baru, Pancoran, Jagakarsa, Pesanggrahan.
- East Jakarta: Matraman, Jatinegara, Kramat Jati, Pasar Rebo, Duren Sawit, Makasar, Ciracas, Cipayung, Pulogadung, Cakung.
Authorities urged residents and commuters to remain alert to potential flooding and to prioritize safety when traveling. Motorists are advised to maintain safe distances and avoid speeding in areas with standing water.****
