Fajarasia.id – Heavy rainfall in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon caused flooding in several areas, including Pasar Jagal, Kemang Utara, Mampang District, South Jakarta. Water levels in the area reached approximately 50 centimeters, disrupting local traffic.
The information was shared by TMC Polda Metro Jaya through its official X account. “Flooding of around 50 cm has occurred at Pasar Jagal, Kemang Utara, Mampang, South Jakarta,” the post stated.
Due to the inundation, roads around the affected area were impassable. Police enforced traffic diversions, rerouting vehicles to alternative routes. A video uploaded by TMC showed floodwaters reaching thigh level, with no vehicles able to pass through the submerged streets.
The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that a total of 16 neighborhood units (RT) and three road sections across the capital were flooded, with water levels in some areas rising as high as 80 cm.
“BPBD has recorded 16 RTs and three road sections currently inundated,” said BPBD Jakarta spokesperson Mohammad Yohan.
The most severe flooding was reported in Pela Mampang, South Jakarta, where nine RTs were submerged with water levels reaching 80 cm. Flooding was also reported in parts of West Jakarta, triggered by heavy rainfall and overflow from the Krukut and Mampang rivers.****
