Fajarasia.co – The steps taken by the chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, who ended the plenary session of the DPR on Tuesday (24/5/2022) were deemed appropriate.
Even though there was one member of the DPR from the PKS faction who still wanted to interrupt, Puan still closed the plenary meeting to respect the time for the midday prayer.
This was conveyed by the Young NU Intellectual who is also Deputy Chair of the Jakarta PWNU Lakpesdam, Lutfi Syarqawi, Wednesday (25/5/2022).
“There was nothing wrong with the way that Puan closed the meeting because it was time for the midday prayer. As a devout Muslim, this decision is the right one and we really respect the time of worship for Muslims,” said Lutfi.
What’s more, the meeting had been going on for 3 hours, 30 minutes late from the time that had been set. All the issues that became the core of the discussion at the plenary meeting have also been discussed.
“So there is no longer any reason to extend the meeting time. It is better for the meeting to end immediately so that members of the DPR and staff, the majority of whom are Muslims, can perform the Dzuhur prayer on time,” he said.
Lutfi also regretted the attitude of Amin AK who insisted on interrupting when Puan had stated that she wanted to close the meeting. He said the aspiration should have been conveyed before entering the end of the plenary session.
Even when Puan was given the opportunity to speak, Amin AK made his interruptions long and long-winded.
“Should have been given time, interrupts can be delivered in effective sentences and can go straight to the point of the problem so it doesn’t take time,” said Lutfi.
In yesterday’s plenary session, Puan initially stated that she wanted to close the meeting which had been going on for 3 hours.
“We have held a plenary meeting today for 3 hours, alhamdulillah, so we will immediately close today’s plenary because it has passed the 30-minute schedule specified during the Covid-19 pandemic and has entered the time for the zuhur prayer. Honorable members of the council, distinguished guests, thus,” said Puan.
Then, Amin AK from the PKS Faction cut off Puan and interrupted her.
“The leadership’s interruption,” said Amin.
Puan also explained that she had conveyed that this meeting would be closed because it was time for the noon prayer.
“Please sir, I told you that I had entered the Zuhur prayer,” said the PDIP politician.
However, Amin AK persisted in wanting to interrupt.
“Leader interrupt, only 1 interrupt leader,” said Amin.
Puan also gave only 1 minute for Amin to convey his interruption. However, Amin AK offered to give him an interruption of at least 4 minutes.
“4 minutes leader,” he asked.
Puan also replied that the plenary meeting which had been held since 10.42 WIB had lasted for 3 hours.
However, Amin ignored this and continued to interrupt. Before Amin had finished delivering his interrupt, his microphone suddenly went off after 3 minutes of speaking.
Puan then continued to close the Plenary Session of the DPR.
“Dear members of the council, distinguished guests. Thus, the plenary session of the board is finished today,” said Puan.
“With the permission of the council session, allow us to close the plenary meeting by saying alhamdulillahirobbil aalamiin,” concluded Puan, greeted by applause from the members of the council present. (*)
