Parliament Member Highlights Strategic Role of Youth in Shaping Indonesia’s Future

Anggota Komisi VII DPR RI, Novita Hardini

Fajarasia.id – Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Novita Hardini, underscored the vital role of young people in determining the nation’s future. She delivered the message during the ASEAN Youth Future Summit 2025 held at the Expotorium of Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo.

Youth as Agents of Change

Novita, a politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), urged the younger generation to be part of the solution to national challenges. She emphasized the importance of preparing youth to face increasingly complex geopolitical dynamics.

“Young people are our hope for the future. They must be able to contribute solutions to both national and global challenges,” Novita said in her remarks on Sunday (Nov 16, 2025).

She added that the spirit of Indonesia’s founding fathers, including Bung Karno, and the values of Pancasila should serve as guiding principles for youth in navigating global changes.

Addressing Inequality in Education

Novita also highlighted the issue of unequal access to education across regions, which she said continues to hinder young people from achieving equal opportunities. “Unequal access to education is detrimental to our youth. They need equal opportunities to dream and grow,” she explained.

Courage and Literacy as Foundations

Encouraging youth not to fear challenges, Novita stressed that courage is key to overcoming obstacles. “Everyone has the right to dream. Fear is natural, but without courage to overcome it, we cannot win in life,” she said.

She further emphasized literacy as a fundamental pillar for the nation’s future. “We can be anything, but we must not be nothing without literacy. Literacy enables us to carry out responsibilities with integrity,” Novita added.

Inspired Participants

One of the seminar participants, Linda, shared her reflections, saying she felt motivated by Novita’s message. “I used to be afraid of thinking about the future. But this seminar inspired me to continue my education and strengthen my literacy,” she said.

Novita’s call at the ASEAN Youth Future Summit 2025 highlights the strategic role of Indonesia’s youth in addressing national challenges, promoting equal access to education, and building a literate, courageous generation ready to face global dynamics.****
