Fajarasia.co – PKB Chairperson Muhaimin Iskandar was flattered to receive a surprise during a pilgrimage with PDI Perjuangan DPP Chair Puan Maharani today, Sunday (25/09/2022).
The surprise in question was Gus Muhaimin’s 56th birthday cake from Puan Maharani and the elite ranks of the PDI-P. This happened after the two made a pilgrimage to the grave of the late Taufik Kiemas at the Heroes Cemetery, Kalibata, South Jakarta.
“I thank you, Mbak Puan, for remembering my birthday today, giving me a cake. Thank you for preparing a birthday cake, I hope your prayers will be answered, and I will at least become vice president,” said Gus Muhaimin, greeted by ‘geer’ Puan and the elite ranks of the two parties.
The surprise accompanied by the hope/prayer of Gus Muhaimin was conveyed as a form of awareness. The reason is that PKB in its jokes still lost its vote to the PDI-P in the 2019 General Election.
“Why did you move to become vice president? His party lost badly (with PDIP),” explained Gus Muhaimin.
Responding to Gus Muhaimin’s statement, Puan said casually. He said, the possibility of a PDI-P coalition with PKB is something that might happen. Because in simple language Puan, nothing is impossible in politics.
“It is possible, nothing is impossible in politics. It can be met like this, it is a signal that in the future there may be other dynamics,” said Puan.
“I also pray for (Gus Muhaimin to become vice president). God willing, amen,” added Puan, greeted by Gus Muhaimin’s words by praying for Puan Maharani as President to continue the leadership of President Joko Widodo.
The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives added that the political dynamics in the future are still very fluid. Moreover, there is still a year ahead, meaning that there is still time for changes in the composition of the coalition of political parties.
“Because it’s still a year, I think it can still be built, (still) open, how then to equate the same vision, mission and ideals. It’s called political dynamics, nothing is possible, this meeting opens up space for both of us to always communicate,” said Puan.****
