Indonesian National Team Subdues Malaysia, Bronze in Hand

Fajarasia.co – Indonesia finally came home with a bronze medal from football after the Garuda Muda Team managed to beat Malaysia through a 4-3 (1-1) penalty shootout.

Marc Kloc’s kick from the white point to the right of the goal that goalkeeper Muhammad Rahadiazli bin Rahalim couldn’t stop was the decisive factor for Indonesia’s victory in the match which took place at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi, Sunday (22/5/2022).

The aggressive match shown by the two teams from the early minutes only resulted in a number of opportunities but did not produce a single goal. Until halftime the score remained even.

In the second half, entering the 68th minute, the forward numbered 9, Ronaldo, answered the deadlock in the front row of the Indonesian national team.

Starting from the movement of Marselino Ferdinand who was overshadowed by two Malaysian defenders, Marselino pushed himself and was able to escape from their guard.

Marselino Ferdinand’s breakthrough bait was caught calmly by the player with dreadlocks number 9 and kicked the ball towards the Malaysian goal. The goalkeeper Muhammad Rahadiazli Bin Rahmalim had stepped forward to block the ball. Unfortunately, the ball actually tore his own net.

The attacks of the Indonesian and Malaysian teams became even more intense after Malaysia trailed Indonesia 0-1 in the continued struggle for bronze in the SEA Games football. Malaysia is even more eager to catch up.

It was proven that when the match entered the 80th minute, Malaysia was able to avenge the gap through a goal from player number 9, Muhammad Hadi Fayyadh Bin Abdul Razak. This result made the score 1-1 and lasted until the long whistle.

The final match must end with a penalty shootout, to determine who deserves to be the winner.

Hadi Fayyadh appeared as the first executor but his shot could be read by Ernando. Asnawi, who was expected to beat the situation, failed because his shot hit the crossbar.

On the second occasion, Muhammad Hairiey scored even though his shot was read by Ernando and gave Malaysia a 1-0 lead in the penalty shootout. However, Ridwan equalized after his shot was successfully thrown towards the left of the Malaysian goal.

Ernando turned things around after saving Luqman Hakim’s penalty kick. Meanwhile, Marselino did a good job of bringing Indonesia 2-1 up.

Malaysia had equalized to 2-2 through Harith Haiqal’s kick. But Saddil Ramdani gave Indonesia a 3-2 lead through a smooth penalty execution. The victory of the Garuda Muda team was determined by Marc Klok’s penalty kick which closed the match with a score of 4-3.****
