Fajarasia.co.id Commission I member of the House of Representatives A. Rizki Sadig said that Indonesia urgently needs the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP).
This is to avoid the occurrence of personal data leakage, which benefits some parties.
“We need to have the Personal Data Law, as a solution because there are more and more personal data leaks, many are trapped in loan problems, and other problems that are quite complex,” said Rizki, Friday (27/5/2022).
Sadiq emphasized that the Personal Data Law should at least be a legal umbrella for Indonesia, in the rapidly developing technology.
“In addition to the complexity of the personal data problem, in the last 2 years, the government has continued to make and present a Personal Data Law that can reach all components,” he said.
He advised, in using social media, people have the awareness to be careful and wise.
“Be a wise social media user, who uploads productive content, who can maintain self-respect and the immediate environment, which in the long term will not be a problem,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Gianluigi Christoikov, as CMO of Indonesian Funny Council, said that caution is needed when selling technology goods, because if you are not careful, it will lead to unwanted things.
“If you want to sell gadgets or tech stuff, make sure you’ve erased all the data, make sure it’s been reset. This activity is used to minimize the incidence of data theft,” he said on the same occasion.
He added, technological progress depends on each individual, in its use. If someone uses technology smartly, it will be an advantage. Vice versa.
“Make sure you are responsible for whatever we do on social media, for example if you post something in 2020, make sure the post can be accounted for in 2023,” he said. ****
