Fajarasia.co – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department stated that it received a report from a person with the initials KW against the former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo. The report was related to the posting of photos of the Borobudur Temple stupa similar to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
The report is registered in LP/B/0293/VI/2022/SPKT/BARESKRIM dated June 20, 2022. The reporting person in this case is KW.
“We confirmed that at around 11.50 am someone reported one of the initials of the reporter KW,” said Head of the Public Information Division of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko to the media crew, Jakarta, Monday (20/6/2022).
Gatot revealed, the reporter reported the owner of the Twitter account @KRMTRoySUryo2. In this case, the complainant brought evidence of a screen capture of a post on Twitter.
“This is related to allegations of hate speech based on SARA and or blasphemy against Buddhism,” said Gatot.
In this case, the complainant is of the view that Roy Suryo violated Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE and/or Article 156a of the Criminal Code.
“We are still waiting for the latest update from Bareskrim. Because it was only reported this afternoon,” said Gatot.*****
