Fajarasia.id – A wave of excitement swept through SMP Negeri 4 Bekasi, West Java, as thousands of students lined the streets to welcome President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, during his visit on Monday morning. The President’s arrival was part of the launch of the Digital Learning for Smart Indonesia program.
Crowds of students in white-and-blue uniforms filled Jalan Ahmad Yani up to the school gates, waving their hands, raising their phones, and chanting the President’s name as his motorcade entered the area. Prabowo greeted the students by standing from the sunroof of his official vehicle, responding to the cheers with waves and smiles.
Tight Security and Public Enthusiasm Members of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) were stationed around the convoy to ensure safety. From above, the line of students stretched from the intersection near the school to the main courtyard. The crowd was not limited to SMPN 4 students, as pupils from nearby schools also joined the welcome. Despite the scorching heat, the enthusiasm remained high, with teachers shading their students and local residents gathering along the roadside to witness the event.
Accompanied by Cabinet Ministers President Prabowo was joined by several cabinet members supporting the education digitalization initiative, including Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, and West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi. Together, they toured classrooms, inspected digital facilities, and observed trial sessions of technology-based learning.
National Priority Program The Digital Learning for Smart Indonesia program is one of the government’s key priorities to improve access, quality, and equity in education through technology. The Bekasi launch marks an early step in nationwide implementation. President Prabowo is scheduled to engage directly with students and teachers about the use of digital devices and review the infrastructure prepared by the government.***
