Fajarasia.co – The Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation has received a report on the plane crash with registration number PK-DAR/B412 belonging to PT Derazona with the Jila (WAYJ) flight route to Timika (WAYY) Papua at 09.20 WIT last Wednesday (8/6). .

Plt. Director General of Civil Aviation, Nur Isnin Istiartono, explained that of the 11 victims, 10 had been evacuated safely, while 1 child under five who was missing was still in the process of being searched.

“This PK-DAR aircraft is rented by the Mimika Regional Government for the Health Care Program of the Air Mobile Health Center. This aircraft will fly the Timika-Jila-Timika route,” said Nur Isnin in a statement received by the Editor, Friday (10/6/2022).

He explained that initially the plane flew from the Mimika Regent’s Office to the puskesmas in Jila with paramedics and patients who needed medical treatment (cases of giving birth with the condition of the placenta not coming out).

After that, the plane flew back from Jila to Timika with 11 people consisting of the Pilot, Co-Pilot, 6 adult passengers and 3 children.

On returning to Timika, on the way the plane had an accident and made an emergency landing due to bad weather.

Through monitoring from AirNav and satellite phone calls, the coordinates of the plane’s crash are known. The joint SAR team departed from the Mozes Kilangin Airport hangar and moved quickly to evacuate and search for the point where the plane had an accident (emergency landing).

“We are very grateful for the help and alertness of colleagues from AirNav, the Joint Sar Team of the Indonesian Air Force and Mimika Police, UPBU Mozes Kilangin, ERG PT. Freeport, the Mimika Health Service and other elements involved in the evacuation and search for plane victims,” ​​said Nur Isnin.

He said the search for victims who had not been found would be continued by the joint SAR team.

“Hopefully one more victim can be found soon, and we hope that there will be no more accidents that take lives. Safe, Safe and Comfortable Flights must always be the top priority,” he said.*****
