Fajarasia.co – Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate is scheduled to attend the peak event of the 2022 Malaysia National Journalists Day (HAWANA) in the State of Melaka, Sunday (29/5).
“The invitation letter to the Minister was sent in early May,” said member of the HAWANA committee from Bernama News Agency, Mohd Shukri Ishak, when contacted in Kuala Lumpur, Saturday.
HAWANA 2022 is held as a tribute to press practitioners in Malaysia who have helped a lot in disseminating information to the public. The highlight of the event will be opened by Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The guests invited to attend the event were the Chief Minister of Melaka, Malaysian cabinet ministers, ambassadors, local and foreign media leaders.
This year’s event is the second after the first held in Kuala Lumpur in 2018.
Apart from the Minister of Communication and Information, a number of press figures and media leaders in Indonesia will also attend the event.
Among the invited figures in the Indonesian press were the President of the Association of Indonesian Journalists (ISWAMI) in Indonesia Asro Kamal Rokan, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Atal S. Depari, and Chairman of the PWI Honorary Council Ilham Bintang.
Among the invited media leaders in Indonesia were the Director of Reporting at the ANTARA News Agency, Akhmad Munir, Deputy Editor in Chief of Kompas Tri Agung Kristanto, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI) Teguh Santosa and Chairman of the Pemred Forum who is also the Chief Editor of Kumparan Arifin Asydhad.** **
