Fajarasia.co – The government is preparing four National Data Centers (PDN) to support the implementation of data-driven policies and efficient, effective and transparent public services.
“The government will build four PDN with global Tier-IV standards, a very high level for data center standards,” said Minister of Communications and Information Johnny G. Plate in a press release received in Jakarta on Saturday (6/25/2022).
This was said by Johnny during a working visit to Batam, Riau Islands.
The government plans to build a National Data Center in the Deltamas Industrial Estate (Jabodetabek), Nongsa Digital Park Batam, the State Capital in East Kalimantan and Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara).
This National Data Center was created so that Indonesia can implement one data management. With one data, the government can take data-driven policies (data driven policies) so that regulations can be faster and more accurate.
“This PDN development has made a big contribution in the context of national data management, at least to support electronic government so that state policies are more accurate,” said Johnny.
According to Minister Johnny, more qualified data management in the public sector and as a service to government needs is a must, both in the scope of personal data, non-personal data and electronic transactions.
The National Data Center will function as a digital data warehouse, while the appointed ministries and agencies will be the data guardians.
The data guardian in the private sector is the operator of the private electronic system.
“Technical details regarding the storage capacity or memory and processor capacity are still being drafted by the Indonesian government,” said Minister Johnny.
Johnny said that now the central and local governments use more than 2,700 data centers. Of this amount, only 3 percent use cloud-based storage, so there are many obstacles in data interoptability.****
