Fajarasia.co – The festivities continued on the second day of the 2022 Rainforest World Music Festival which took place in the Sarawak Cultural Village area in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, Saturday (18/6).
Thousands of visitors thronged the grass field in front of the main stage which performed live musicians until close to midnight.
The location of the Sarawak Cultural Village which is located about 25 kilometers from the center of Kuching City since the afternoon has begun to be crowded with visitors, both local residents and foreign tourists.
The queue of vehicles has also been monitored since at the checkpoint before entering the area which covers an area of about 17 hectares. The committee only allowed visitors’ vehicles to arrive at the checkpoint so that hundreds of cars could be seen parked along the shoulder of the road.
The committee prepared a connecting vehicle from the checkpoint to the Sarawak Cultural Village area, and vice versa. In addition, there are also buses that are prepared to transport spectators from the center of Kuching City at a fare of 20 Malaysian ringgit for adults or the equivalent of Rp. 68 thousand at an exchange rate of 1 RM = Rp. 3,400.
Meanwhile, if you use a booking application, the rate can be up to four times more expensive.
One of the performers who attracted attention on the second night was Dongyang Gozupa from South Korea who was present in front of thousands of spectators. This three-person band is a progressive rock band that uses the traditional “yanggeum” musical instrument plus bass and drums as well as percussion.
Consisting of Dohyuk Jang, the percussionist whose rock group won the award for being the most popular in South Korea. Lau is Eunhwa Yun, who is an expert in playing the yanggeum musical instrument. Minhwi Ham then joined as bass player.
In total, there were 15 groups or musicians performing on the second day of RWMF 2022, both live and virtual.****
