Fajarasia.co – Thousands of combined TNI and Polri personnel are ready to secure the International Disaster Forum “Global Platform For Disaster Rick Reduction” in 2022, in Denpasar Bali.
The International Meeting will be attended by 4000 to 5000 participants from 193 member countries.
“The security of the delegates from 193 member countries is a fixed price,” said Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General TNI Sonny Aprianto during the rally of the Regional Security and Disaster Evacuation Task Force, Saturday (21/5/2022).
Sonny said the security involved counter sniper troops at a number of points.
“For security and disaster evacuation, 2,800 troops were deployed. Yes, counter sniper troops must be involved, to anticipate if there are enemy parties who use snipers. So this counter-sniper force will secure it,” said Sonny
Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Provincial BPBD, I Made Rentin, said that Bali is very ready to host an international disaster forum.
He said this meeting would serve as a guide to disaster risk reduction, especially since Indonesia, especially Bali, is in the ring of fire.
According to Made Rentin, this momentum is also to strengthen disaster risk reduction mitigation and become an arena for disaster resilient collaboration for sustainable development.
“Indonesia, especially Bali, being in the ring of fire certainly has excellent programs that are appropriate and can be shared with the international community to be more resilient to disasters,” said Made Rentin.
The Global Platform For Disaster Rick Reduction is a bi-annual multi-stakeholder forum initiated by the United Nations to discuss disaster risk management.
During the meeting, the delegates will formulate strategic guidelines for disaster risk reduction, both natural and non-natural disaster mitigation.
It is believed that this global collaboration will help member countries mitigate disaster risk.****
