Fajarasia.co – There are rumors that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will conduct an examination of the top Democrat Party officials regarding the E-KTP case. In addition, the KPK stated that it had finished examining the former Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Gamawan Fauzi as a witness related to the Procurement of Packages for Application of National Identity Cards Based on National Population Identification Numbers (Electronic KTP/E-KTP).
Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said Gamawan was being investigated by KPK investigators regarding the E-KTP procurement process when he served as Minister of Home Affairs.
“He was present and confirmed by the Investigative Team, among others, related to the process of procuring an e-KTP while still serving as the Minister of Home Affairs,” said Ali in a written statement, Thursday (30/6/2022).
Gamawan was questioned by KPK investigators, Wednesday (29/6) yesterday. After being questioned, he admitted that he was asked about the suspect E-KTP who is currently still at large, Paul Tannos.
“No. How do I know where Tannos is. I’ve never met him before,” Gamawan told reporters after being questioned at the KPK building.
Gamawan also denied the question of his involvement in this case. Gamawan said that before the tender for the E-KTP project was conducted, he had never communicated and met with Tannos.
“No. I was asked if he had ever met. Since before the tender (E-KTP) he has never met me,” said Gamawan.
However, when asked whether there were any questions from the investigators regarding the involvement of the top Democrats, which was planned to be investigated in the near future.
“I don’t know about that, please ask the investigator,” he concluded.
For information, the KPK has detained two suspects related to the development of the E-KTP corruption case on February 3.
The two are former President Director of Perum PNRI Isnu Edhy Wijaya, and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of Electronic Identity Cards, Husni Fahmi.
Isnu and Husni had previously been named suspects along with members of the 2014-2019 DPR RI Miryam S Haryani and Paulus Tanos in August 2019. However, until now Paulus Tanos is still a fugitive from the KPK.
In the main case, the KPK has processed eight people with alleged state financial losses of around Rp. 2.3 trillion.
They are former Speaker of the House of Representatives Setya Novanto, as well as two former Ministry of Home Affairs officials, Irman and Sugiharto. In addition, businessman Made Oka Masagung and former Director of PT Murakabi Sejahtera Irvanto Hendra Pambudi Cahyo.
Then, entrepreneur Andi Naragong and President Director of PT Quadra Solution Anang Sugiana Sudiharjo. All of them have been processed in court and found guilty by the court of committing a criminal act of corruption.****
