Fajarasia.co – The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, visited the Kebon Roek Market, Ampenan District, Mataram City, during her working visit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). During her visit, Puan wanted to check the prices of food ingredients.
The presence of Puandi Kebon Roek Market, Saturday (27/8/2022), was warmly welcomed by traders and buyers. Accompanied by Deputy Chairperson of the MPR Ahmad Basarah, Puan occasionally appeared to greet the public.
Puan then went to the stalls selling vegetables and basic ingredients. While having a dialogue, the first woman who served as Chair of the DPR RI also went shopping, starting from buying vegetables, peppers, fried onions, spices, to eggs.
“As the chairman of the DPR RI, I came directly to the Kebon Roek Market because I wanted to experience the economic and trade conditions in Mataram City,” said Puan.
The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also reminded the Government to be wary of rising prices of basic commodities. Puan also asked the government to improve the facilities in traditional markets.
“This is important so that buyers feel comfortable staying here for a long time, so that sellers also get more opportunities to sell their goods,” said the grandson of the Indonesian Proclaimer Bung Karno.
“This is a win-win solution when people’s purchasing power is maintained, and traders can also increase their turnover,” continued Puan.
On that occasion, several people who were present gave support for Puan to run in the 2024 presidential election.
“Our lady candidate, our presidential candidate,” shouted a number of residents.
A Mataram resident named Amel said that Puan had the capacity to become a president.
“I am happy that Ms. Puan can advance. He is suitable to replace Pak Jokowi,” said Amel.
Amel said he would be very happy if Puan ran for the 2024 presidential election. Moreover, the grandson of the proclaimer of Indonesia, Bung Karno, was a figure who fought for women a lot.
“Anyway, Mbak Puan is great, I hope our voices are heard,” he concluded.***
