Fajarasia.co – The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, wished all Indonesians a happy birthday of Pancasila, which is commemorated by all Indonesians on June 1.
“Happy Birthday of Pancasila, the greatest asset of our beloved Indonesian nation,” said Puan, Wednesday (1/6/2022).
Pancasila, which was initiated by Puan’s grandfather, Bung Karno, was agreed to be born on June 1, 1945.
At that time, Soekarno had the opportunity to convey his ideas on the basis of the state in front of the members of the Investigative Agency for Preparatory Work for Independence (BPUPKI).
In that speech, Soekarno put forward the concept and initial formulation of Pancasila as the basis for an independent state for the first time.
At the birth of Pancasila, which is now 77 years old, Puan emphasized that the values of Pancasila are still very relevant and will continue to be relevant in facing various challenges in the future.
“Because with the strength of the values contained in it, Pancasila is always relevant for the Indonesian nation and people in facing challenges and developments as well as science,” said Puan.
Puan added that Pancasila was also relevant as the way of life for all policies in the state as well as an umbrella and a beacon of light for the dynamics of people’s aspirations.
With the values contained in the five precepts of Pancasila, the nation and society are protected from division even though they are full of diversity.
“Because indeed, the precepts of Pancasila are noble values that Bung Karno excavated from within this motherland, from the traditions of the people of this nation, which later found five beautiful pearls, namely Pancasila, the basis of the Indonesian state,” said Puan. ****
