Fajarasia.co – The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto was warmly received by the Prime Minister of Cambodia HE Hun Sen. The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and multilateral cooperation in ASEAN.
“Indonesia and Cambodia need to stand together as ASEAN countries for the common interest of ASEAN,” Prabowo said at The Peace Palace, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday (23/6/2022).
Prabowo and Hun met during Prabowo’s working visit to Cambodia to attend the 16th ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting (ADMM).
Prabowo said that the meeting and communication between the two countries meant that both parties had a vision in an effort to increase the ongoing cooperation.

“I hope that the cooperation and friendship between Indonesia and Cambodia can be maintained in the spirit of brotherhood and the principle of mutual respect,” he said.
On this occasion, PM Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to Indonesia. He also expressed his personal gratitude to Defense Minister Prabowo for providing assistance and support for the advancement of the Cambodian Armed Forces.
The two countries also have a very close cooperative relationship in the defense sector, such as the TNI which has been actively providing support through education and training to the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Commando Troops, the Cambodian Prime Minister’s Guards, and the Cambodian Peacekeeping Forces.*** *
