Fajarasia.co – Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives and Chair of the PDI-P (PDIP) Puan Maharani attended the party consolidation in NTB. He also asked the cadres to solidly win the PDI-P in the 2024 General Election.
This was conveyed by Puan in the Coordination Meeting and Guidance for Winning the 2024 General Election with the DPD and DPC PDIP throughout NTB at the DPD PDIP NTB Office, Mataram, Saturday (27/8/2022).
Puan’s presence was warmly welcomed by PDIP NTB cadres. Hundreds of PDIP cadres packed the NTB PDIP DPD office starting from the 1st floor to the meeting place on the 2nd floor. Puan was present accompanied by the Chair of the PDIP DPP who is also the Deputy Chair of the MPR Ahmad Basarah.
According to Puan, her presence gave directions at the regional party consolidation event at the behest of the PDIP Ketum Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“I am traveling Indonesia, including to NTB, with the permission and assignment of the general chairman,” said Puan.
The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives also mentioned the role of the Indonesian Proclaimer Bung Karno in the history of the PDIP. In addition to getting a party assignment, according to Puan, he also got an assignment as part of the Bung Karno family.
“PDIP cannot be separated from Bung Karno. So if I represented the Bung Karno family, I was assigned. So in addition to representing the DPP, I am the representative of the family, I was assigned,” he said.
Puan said that party consolidation was needed to solidify the cadres. Moreover, the 2024 election stage has officially started.
“Close the ranks so that no one goes to the right or to the left. By 2024, must close. It has to be upright, don’t let it be like a chicken that has lost its mother,” said Puan.
Furthermore, Puan said how she struggled in politics from the bottom up. He shared his campaign experience when he first decided to run as a legislative candidate in 2009.
“Departing at 08.00 in the morning, entering people’s homes, returning to the post at 02.00 in the morning. Every day. So I’m in the PDI-P not suddenly, but I follow the whole history of this party,” said Puan.
“If you want to know the breath of the PDI-P, you have to go to the field,” continued the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
Therefore, Puan invites PDIP NTB cadres to win a hat-trick of victory in the general election. He also reminded PDIP cadres to avoid internal conflicts, especially during the Pilleg and Pilkada.
“So you have to be solid. I don’t want to hear any more fighting between us. This is common before the Pilkada constantly fighting. We focus first on winning the legislative and presidential elections. If you win, it’s easier to win the election,” said Puan.
“So prepare from now on. You have to work hard on the field. People like to be called. Don’t never work for the party, never getong royong to win the party but ask for election recommendations,” he continued.
According to Puan, all party structures need to work together to win the legislative and presidential elections three times in a row. He also asked the three pillars of the party to have the same rhythm of movement, one understanding and one goal.
“All of us, if we want to bring the PDI-P to win a hat trick, we must work together, work together, and work together,” concluded Puan.****
