Fajarasia.co – Political observer Hendri Satrio believes that PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri has assigned her daughter Puan Maharani to establish communication with other political parties ahead of the 2024 General Election.
Hendri believes that the important mandate given by Megawati is an implied message that Puan is prepared to be promoted as a presidential candidate from the PDI-P in 2024.
Of the many potential candidates currently in the PDI-P, it is Puan who is considered the most worthy of being promoted in the upcoming presidential election.
“Moreover, the PDI-P Secretary General has stated that the presidential candidate owned by the PDI-P must have a clear and firm ideological line in accordance with the mandate issued by the PDI-P spirit, vision and mission,” said Hendri, Tuesday (19/7/ 2022).
Hendri said that from the start Megawati had prepared Puan to become the country’s leader.
Megawati fostered her political career, starting from serving as a member of the DPR, becoming the Chair of the PDI-P faction in the DPR, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, to the Chair of the DPR.
By assigning Puan to open communications to other political parties, Megawati is considered to want to show how the quality of Puan is now more mature.
“I think the more we talk directly with Ms. Maharani, the more obvious her qualities will be,” said this political observer from Paramadina University.
Not only is Puan more qualified, she is also considered worthy of being promoted as a presidential candidate because she adheres to the ideological line of the PDI-P.
So, Hendri emphasized that what Puan was doing was not just communication or lobbying, but also showing the PDI-P’s true identity to the public through other political parties.
“The democratic spirit fostered by the PDI-P can be transmitted to other political parties through the lady,” he said.
Hendri also thought that it would be very interesting to see Puan build communication with opposition parties such as the Democratic Party and the Prosperous Justice Party.
The founder of the Indonesian Public Opinion Study and Discussion Group (Kedai Kopi) survey institute believes that Puan can open communication with opposition parties brilliantly.
Because, Puan also had experience leading the PDI-P faction in the DPR as an opposition when the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was in power.
“Obviously the PDI-P has been in the opposition, so Mbak Puan’s communication with the Democrats and PKS will not be difficult,” said Hendri.
“So it will be interesting and a milestone for Indonesia. The unifying history of Soekarno was brought by Mrs. Maharani in her mission,” he continued. ****
