Fajarasia.co – A patient with monkeypox infection was confirmed in the Netherlands for the first time, the government health agency RIVM said on Friday (20/5).
RIVM (National Institute of Health) added that actually more people are suspected of being infected with the disease.
“After the weekend, we will provide updates on any new infections that have been identified,” RIVM said in a statement.
More than 100 cases of monkeypox, a viral infection that is common in central and west Africa, have been reported in Europe this week.
German officials described the situation as the largest monkeypox outbreak ever to have occurred in the region.***
