Fajarasia.co – Puan Maharani’s meeting with the General Chair of the Nasdem Party, Surya Paloh, today, Monday, August 22, 2022, was considered positive by Political Opinion (IPO) political observer Dedi Kurnia Syah.
Dedi assessed that Puan’s visit implied PDIP’s maturity and political decency. It is known that PDIP is an old and big party that is currently in power, while Nasdem is a new party that still lacks power.
Thus, the meeting also dismissed the assumption that had been circulating so far that PDIP was an arrogant party because until this moment it was reluctant to build a coalition axis for the 2024 presidential election.
“However, this is the political establishment of Megawati and Puan Maharani, she knows how to make friends, so that her coming to Surya Paloh is no longer a matter of whether or not a coalition is needed, but a matter of how Megawati teaches Puan about political civility,” said Dedi.
“Nasdem may be newer and less powerful, but what will come tomorrow is Puan, and Surya Paloh is clearly much more senior, politically established and rich in experience,” he added.
Even though in the upcoming meeting, Puan is much younger than Surya Paloh, but according to Dedi, PDIP and Nasdem both maintain authority.
“This situation is good, it shows the authority of Megawati and PDIP because the next one is Puan, while at the same time maintaining the authority of Nasdem because she was visited by a party that is much more powerful, this is the political maturity of Megawati and Surya Paloh,” he explained.
In fact, he continued, it was possible that from the meeting an agreement and support from Nasdem emerged for Puan to contest the 2024 presidential election.
“It is not impossible, if the Nasdem PDIP is in line, then Puan Maharani will be promoted as a potential presidential candidate,” he concluded.****
