Fajarasia.co – The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) stated that the Bareskrim Polri has complied with applicable legal rules and is professional in handling cases of alleged fraud from the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP).
“What has been done by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police in this case has procedurally complied with the applicable legal rules,” Kompolnas member Muhammad Dawam told reporters, Saturday (6/25/2022).
Dawam said the legal process for the Indosurya case must continue even though the detention of two suspects in the Indosurya case with the initials HS and JI have ended. According to him, if 120 days of detention have expired, then by law the suspect’s rights must also be fulfilled, namely being released from detention for the sake of law.
“However, it does not mean that he is free from his status as a suspect,” he said.
“Because it is the court that has the authority to judge a person’s status, including the status of a suspect, whether he is acquitted or charged with a crime,” he added.
Furthermore, Dawam asked Bareskrim to continue to be professional in handling this case to completion.
“We hope that it will be carried out professionally and independently so that it will grow public trust more broadly,” he said.
It was previously known that two suspects in the Indosurya cooperative case were released from the detention center because their prison terms had expired. Their case files have also been transferred to the Dittipideksus Bareskrim investigators to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO).
“Yes (the suspect is acquitted), his detention period is up for 120 days,” said the Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan, Saturday (6/25/2022).
Whisnu emphasized that this case would continue. The three suspects are Henry Surya as the Chairman of KSP Indosurya; Manager Director of Cooperative Suwito Ayub (DPO); and Head Admin, June Indria.
Whisnu said the case file of this case had not been returned to investigators. He suspected that there was a problem on the part of the prosecutor.
“The case file has not been turned over from the prosecutor to the National Police. Police investigators have no problems, maybe the problem is with the prosecutor,” he said.
It is known, Bareskrim has detained two high-ranking KSP Indosurya who are suspects in this fraud case. Meanwhile, another KSP Indosurya official, namely Suwito Ayub, is still being sought. *****
